You may want to wear a College Pin for our formal dinners and some welcome events. Traditionally, the College Pin is worn on the left lapel of the gown, however you are welcome to wear it on whichever side feels best! Pins are free for all JCR members, and can be purchased for £2 by non-JCR members.

You may want to wear a College Tie to our formal dinners and some welcome events. South ties feature the college badge in a pattern. We offer Silk Ties (£15 JCR, £18 non-JCR) and Polyester (£9 for JCR members and £12 for non-JCR members).

South College is gowned, meaning gowns are worn to Matriculation and Formal Dinners. Matriculation is a congregation to welcome you to the University community and formal dinners are a communal dining experience which will take place regularly throughout the year. In order to select the right sized gown you need to measure the length (in inches) between your shoulder and your knee, sizes come in 40", 42", 44", 46", 50" or 52". Gowns are priced at £55 for JCR members and £60 for non-JCR members.
